Mister Softee is the oldest ice cream truck in the valley, according to John D’amato, a long time Mister Softee employee. Mister Softee’s ice cream truck has been delighting the taste buds of Phoenix pedestrians since 1960.

 

“I sell shakes, floats, cones, sundaes, you name it," D'Amato said.

 

The most popular item from this legendary truck is the “Chocolate Dipped Cone” consisting of smooth vanilla ice cream dipped in a hard chocolate shell.

 

D’amato said his favorite part about attending Phoenix’s First Friday festival is the “very diversified crowd.” He proudly states he can serve an average of 150 customers per hour!
